Re-Framing Pittsburgh: A Field Photography Course & Exhibition

Wednesdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31 & August 7
6:00  9:00 pm, The Pump House

Reframing Pittsburgh is a five-week photography course and exhibition focusing on the recreation of historical photographs of greater Pittsburgh, contained in the Rivers of Steel archives.  Rivers of Steel Arts is excited to partner with Silver Eye Center for Photography to offer this unique field course that explores the region’s changing visual landscape.  Through a combination of classroom meetings and self-guided, on-location shooting, students will recreate two photographs from a selection of archival images.

Each student’s best photograph, along with the original counterpart, will be framed for the final exhibition during a professional framing workshop provided by Silver Eye Center for Photography.  These works will then be included in an exhibition to be held at the Carrie Furnaces Deer Head Gallery in August of 2019. (Framing costs included in the cost of the workshop).
