Film Screening: The Ruins Project
Saturday, August 3, 2024, 8:30 p.m.
Join Rivers of Steel for the screening of The Ruins Project, a short film by Robert Tinnell that shares the story of mosaic artist Rachel Sager’s epic journey to transform the concrete ruins of an old coal mine into an outdoor gallery that honors the past, celebrates creativity, and delivers on the unexpected!
The event is free and offered in conjunction with Brownsville’s Community Day. After the schedule of bands from the Mon Valley Academy of the Arts, stop by the Rivers of Steel tent to learn more about The Ruins Project from Rachel Sager. The film will be shown in Hope Park, adjacent to the where the bands perform earlier. Rivers of Steel will also be offering a Hot Metal Happening (an aluminum pour) in the afternoon, along with tents featuring folk arts and hands-on kids activities. Stop by—we hope to see you!
