For photographers craving an “open” shooting experience, a variety of different Photo Safari options allow for unique access to Rivers of Steel’s attractions. The interplay of light and seasonality at the Carrie Furnaces offer endless perspectives of this industrial muse.  For photographers looking to explore analogue processes and in-depth instruction in specific techniques, guided workshops are available. Team-building exercises recreate the camaraderie felt between fellow workers on the job.

This program is offered on May 19, July 21, and October 20, 2024.

Join Rivers of Steel at dusk for a unique photo safari that explores the Carrie Blast Furnaces during twilight. Witness the beauty and subtlety of the site as only seen through half light and capture our own piece of the drama to take home. This safari is recommended for those with prior experience shooting low-light subject matter, but it is open to both novice and experienced photographers alike. Attendees can expect an open shooting experience with very little interruption, guidance, or interference. Take inspiration from the wide vistas or the delicate details at this National Historic Landmark site.
