Learn to forge your own coat rack at the Carrie Blast Furnaces!
This two day intermediate-level, workshop is an excellent way to continue exploring the forging process. Work with hot steel to create your own custom coat rack and in the process, you’ll hone your hook making techniques and learn new skills in punching, bending, riveting and more. At the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a sturdy, handmade coat rack of their own design ready for use at home or in the office. Some prior experience with forging is recommended.
These sessions are led by Rivers of Steel staff artist and bladesmith Jared Ondovchik (aka Artifact Metalworks).
This workshop is offered twice in 2025 on February 1-2 and November 15-16, from 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
$175 / person
*Workshops are limited to 8 participants. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee tickets will be available for walk-ups.
