Rivers of Steel Arts celebrates creative inquiry by crafting opportunities to interpret the region’s past, reimagine its future, and explore a sense of place. Through exhibitions, festivals, workshops, tours, and happenings, Rivers of Steel Arts helps individuals connect with their communities in meaningful ways.
Education
Rivers of Steel Education programs offer unique, inquiry-based opportunities for K–12 and university-level students to discover how southwestern Pennsylvania’s natural resources have shaped our industrial past and cultural heritage—and how our environment today impacts our region’s future.
Preservation
The cornerstone of Rivers of Steel’s work is its dedicated effort to the preservation and interpretation of the region’s cultural and industrial heritage. Rivers of Steel archives and heritage sites are rich, interpretive resources that provide the foundation for our education, arts, and heritage tourism programs.
