Join Real Time Arts and Rivers of Steel for a sunset performance that welcomes Little Amal to the Carrie Blast Furnaces from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20.
As the sun sets, Amal stumbles upon the Carrie Blast Furnaces, a hulking remnant of Pittsburgh’s steel-forging past. Odd lights flicker and music beckons—are there spirits here? Are they frightening or friendly? Help Amal discover others who once found themselves at the furnace, far from home during this one-hour performance. Admission to the event is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
ghosts of the furnace is written by Molly Rice and directed by Rusty Thelin and Cynthia Croot. The performance features The Happy Lovers, with Mariya Trush & Oleksandr Frazé-Frazénko (recipient of City of Asylum’s Fellowship for Ukrainian Writers), Lovely Lady Lydia & Emily Ruth Barlow, Katy Dement (The Paper Lady), Alison Weisgall as the Ghost Queen and you, the audience as the ghosts of the furnace.
Please come wearing white.
Wednesday September 20, 2023, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Free; registration required.
