Beginning in August, Rivers of Steel’s She Worke Beginning in August, Rivers of Steel’s She Worked in a Mill tour returns to the Carrie Blast Furnaces with a fresh opportunity to explore the steel industry through the experiences of the women who lived it. This two-hour guided tour brings to light the overlooked roles women played in mill communities—highlighting their contributions during wartime, their labor on the shop floor, and their impact on life in the Mon Valley.

Set within the striking landscape of a National Historic Landmark, the tour offers a personal lens on industrial history that is as compelling as it is essential. Whether you're a history buff, a heritage traveler, or someone tracing your own family roots, this program invites you to see the mills in a new light.

Tours are offered on select dates throughout August. Private bookings are available.
